“Wholeness is not a state of being, but a state of experiencing.” - Denisha Gingles

Beyond her labor, she exists

I wanted you to get to know the woman behind the Licensed Counselor and Behavior Analyst. First and foremost, I am a Whole Black Woman. I affirm it every chance I get because I know the limitless power that my identities hold and collectively, they are a force. Alexa, play “Grown Woman” by Beyoncé!

Outside of work, my closest friends might tell you that I’m in a committed relationship with brunch. Honestly, have you ever had a bad day that started with champagne, good music, a dope outfit, and your homegirls? I have not... so, yes, I am committed to lit, and lit is committed to me (!!) If you can’t find me toasting at brunch or relaxing in nature, it’s probably because I’m traveling, at an art festival, or whining in the suns at somebody's Carnival. Basically, I love any setting that’s lively, colorful, and positively overflowing with energy!

By nature, I am a deeply inquisitive person, always on the hunt for knowledge, wisdom, and truth, and as a result, I have always felt so divinely intuitive and connected to a higher calling. My mother taught me to be relentless when it comes to standing up for what I believe in and my father taught me the importance of saying no when necessary and prioritizing rest and wellness, reminding me that, “If everything is a priority, then nothing is a priority.”

Meanwhile, the words of Angela Davis echo in my heart and mind constantly, serving to inspire the energy I wish to put into this world: “You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time.”

I believe I was put on this earth to do my part to ignite collective freedom for all and I seek to live my life on purpose and with purpose. If I could share any message with you, it would be: Walk in your own light, be bold, live whole, and take up space. Humility is the tool of the oppressor! And while you're working every room you enter, don't forget to extend radical grace and compassion for yourself and others. We are all meant shine and all meant to fall at times. The ebbs and flows will come, how you treat yourself and others through the ebbs, impacts the (over)flow.
